Alpha Lipoic Acid ‘R’ uses Bio-Enhanced® Na R-Lipoic acid, which is significantly more bio-available and effective than the ‘free acid’ form of R-Lipoic Acid (RLA). Alpha-lipoic acid is an organic compound that acts as a potent antioxidant.
ALA is both water and fat-soluble, which allows it to work in every cell or tissue in the body. It is a powerful co-enzyme and antioxidant, widely recommended for those worn down by oxidative stress. It also helps regenerate other antioxidants such as vitamins E and C and glutathione. The antioxidant properties of ALA have been linked to several benefits, including lower blood sugar levels, reduced inflammation, slower skin ageing, eye, liver and heart health and improved nerve function. ALA is popular as a potential aid for diabetes and its complications, such as peripheral neuropathy.
